Meditation is essentially any practice that helps develop awareness & take charge of our minds. To use an analogy to describe a busy mind, we can think of our attention like the energy of a puppy where we are easily distracted and jump from one thought to another and so struggle to find focus & clarity. No wonder we are so exhausted! Using a variety of techniques including breath work, body focus, image visualisation, mindfulness, mantra and others, we begin to train the mind to concentrate and learn to think about just one thing at time. With regular practice, this single pointed focus develops into a state of being that is calmer, more spacious and joyful!
